Class 108 DMU set S950 (presumably 53926 + 52061) leaves Craven Arms Station about 13.15 on the 1st March 1990 working the 09.48 Swansea to Crewe. In the distance S939 is arriving with the 12.52 Shrewsbury to Swansea, both via the Central Wales route. Notice the massive former shed on the left. I am informed during the Second World War many freights to and from South Wales used the Marshes route to avoid the heavily bombed Birmingham. Probably the depot was often well stocked with the locos during this period! Dave Gommersall.

Class 108 DMU set S939 (presumably 51926 + 53631) has crossed over to platform 2 at Craven Arms Station at 13.18 on the 1st March 1990 working 2V39, the 12.52 Shrewsbury to Swansea. All workings using the Central Wales route needed to gain access to this line via platform 2. Dave Gommersall.
