A Class 101, thought to be SC51805 visible, on the Branch Line Society 'The Clydeside Wanderer' railtour at Dumbarton Central on August 25 1979 in the company of Class 303 EMUs. Jeremy Chapter.

Not from round these here parts? Metro Cammell twin 101 692 awaits the signal at Dumbarton Central (Platform 3) and an eastbound path. It's not in passenger service and the exact working is not known. The DMS nearest the camera is probably 53170 with DMB 53253 behind. The livery is the blue iteration of the SPT schemes. Prior to Sprinterisation of the West Highland Lines, regular DMU passenger operation was not common round here - apart from railtours or when the OHLE was de-energised. Oops! The left jumper junction box has come loose on 52005 while working a southbound special from Oban circa summer 1987. This was taken at Dumbarton Central. Brian Ward.

SC51454 leading the Balloch Basher railtour at Dumbarton 7 July 1984. Organised by the Lea Valley Railway Club, the DMU part of the tour started at Motherwell and ended at Paisley Gilmour Street, connecting with a separately bookable electric hauled section from / to Euston.
