With its destination blind in a bit of a mess, a Derby Class 116 Suburban 3-Car DMU with Driving Motor Brake Second M50063 leading, had arrived at Kentish Town with a service from Barking on September 20th 1980. The service through to Kentish Town on the Midland main line was withdrawn in 1981. Martyn Hilbert.

A class 127 hydraulic dmu heads north from St Pancras in the summer of 1979 and approaches the tunnels south of Kentish Town. The widened lines to the left are closed for reconstruction and electrification for the Bed-Pan scheme. The former goods lines to the right have been cleared so the new main line alignment can be put in. The North London line crosses over the rear of the train. Tony Walmsley.
