A Dundee based class 101 unit arrives at the island platform at Leuchars in Fife with 2G09 18:20 Dundee to Edinburgh service. 28th July 1980. The centre car is a TBS, and appears to be in blue & grey livery. The far DMC has a full-length rainstrip - suggesting it has been refurbished - the closest two have just the rainstrips above the door. Bruce Galloway.

Vehicle: 51524 Set: 187
A Class 101 formed of DMCL SC51524, TCL SC59562 and DMBS SC51467 call at a very peaceful Leuchars Station with an early afternoon service from Dundee to Edinburgh Waverley on the 15th May 1978. All had been refurbished in the white & blue colours and were allocated to Glasgow Eastfield MPD at this time running as Set 187. The central bay platform for the St Andrews branch which closed in January 1969 is clearly still visible. The white houses to the right of the image are part of the married quarters for RAF Leuchars which at this time was a very busy RAF Fighter Station. Bob Woolnough.

20 202 and 20 220 haul a three-car Class 101 Met-Camm DMU past Leuchars station on July 20, 1984. Mike MacDonald.

8th July 1964 sees a five car 101 formation waiting in the bay at Leuchars to depart for St. Andrews. This is believed to be an additional or augmented service for that year’s Open. David Pearson.

Class 107s (107737, presumably 51998 + 59782 + 52021 and 107726, presumably 52018 + 59803 + 51986) stabled at Leuchars between Golf Open specials in July 1990. From here passengers transferred to buses for St Andrews. Stuart Mackay Collection.
