2nd November 1985

A three-car Class 120 DMU hybrid formation containing a Class 101 centre trailer coach on a Manchester Victoria to Blackpool North working at Factory Lane, Penwortham, Preston, on November 2nd 1985. Martyn Hilbert.

6th July 1987

On a fine Summer evening, a two-car Class 104 DMU formed of Driving Motor Brake Second M53470 and Driving Motor Second Lavatory M53499, was hurrying along the Up Fast at Factory Lane, Penwortham, just South of Preston on July 6th 1987. The DMU appears to be well-filled, and the destination blind is showing Crewe. It may have been a returning special/charter from Blackpool North. Martyn Hilbert.
