Summer Saturdays on the North Wales Coast route obviously brought many additional services to the area, but on weekdays, as well, there were a few unusual workings to be found during the summer months. Here a West Midlands PTE 6-car DMU formation working the 0941 Birmingham New St - Llandudno service brakes for the station stop at Prestatyn made up of Tyseley depot sets TS 624 + TS 614 formed of M51130 + M59615 + M51143 and M53895 + M59609 + M53842 (Class 116 driving vehicles with Class 127 trailers displaced from the BedPan electrification scheme).
