A rather poor shot of a class 116 on the 1315 Hereford to Worcester photographed at Stoke Edith east of Hereford, October 1977. Andrew Cope.

Class 117 DMU, set B430 (presumably 51368 59520 51410) is about to pass Stoke Edith SB Up Distant signal with a service from Hereford to Oxford, September 1984. The distant would disappear along with Stoke Edith and Shelwick Junction signal boxes when the line was singled a couple of months later in November of that year. John Crooks.

Class 116 DMU Tyseley set TS616 (presumably 53887 closest) approaches Stoke Edith level crossing on the then, soon to be singled stetch of track between Ledbury and Shelwick Junction with a Hereford bound train. September 1984. John Crooks.
Set: TS400
Despite what the destination blind says, Met-Cam class 101 DMU, set TS400 is approaching Stoke Edith Open Level Crossing from the Hereford direction on its way to Ledbury, Worcester and beyond. The redundant line is still in place at this point, although it is doubtful the sleeper chained across the top of the rail would seriously stop any wagon from ending up in the road. 30th March 1985. John Crooks.

With evidence of track recovery alongside, Met-Cam class 101 DMU, set TS400 approaches Stoke Edith Open Level Crossing, as it was then, on the recently singled line between Ledbury and Hereford, this units final destination. 30th March 1985. John Crooks.

Pressed Steel Class 121 55024 acts a Tail End Charlie for a 3 car set made up of a 2-car suburban set and itself, with a service for Hereford at Stoke Edith level crossing. 19th April 1986. John Crooks.
On 2 May 1993 Pathfinder ran a mini-railtour in connection with an open day at Worcester using 20138+20066. The 2 locos were, unusually, hauling two 4-car DMUs, T404 (51853+59735+59604+53919) + T412 (51860+59591+59446+53116) which ran from Birmingham New Street to Worcester via the Lickey incline, and then on to Hereford and back via Great Malvern. There was plenty of time to run over to Stoke Edith, on the Worcester - Hereford line, to obtain the third of four shots. The sun still co-operated for this pleasantly rural view. Peter Tandy.

This was the final shot of four of the tour - no longer in full sun which infuriated some of the more vocal enthusiasts - but still quite an acceptable shot. It is the classic view at Stoke Edith which I expect is now so overgrown as to be unusable. Peter Tandy.
