With few passengers alighting a Derby suburban triple DMU in green livery calls at Wednesbury (Central) on it's way to Birmingham Snow Hill. Just off the platform (Wolverhampton end) is the signal box, on the platform is a very solid concrete 'gallows' pattern lamp, behind that is an early Lambretta scooter with individual seats rather than a dual seat Behind the opposite platform is the exchange sidings, a pannier tank can be seen waiting with a train, that platform had a sturdy brick built waiting room. The station was opened in 1854, today the site is occupied by the Midland Metro Wednesbury Great Western Street stop. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith 12/12/1963.
