Tyseley set TS548 is seen passing the site of Whitacre station with the 6.14pm Leicester - Birmingham New Street on 25 May 1977. It is a hybrid set, the centre car is a Class 117, Tyseley received two of these from Cardiff Canton a few weeks previous - 59492 and 59502. The power cars are Class 116s, closest is thought to be 50904 which also moved from Canton with the centre cars. Michael Mensing.

Tyseley class 116/101 hybrid unit T032 formed of 53242 + 53073 was working a Birmingham New Street to Lincoln service when I photographed it at Whitacre Junction on 17 May 1992. Waiting for a path from the loop with a loaded Croft Quarry to Bescot ballast train were 31512 + 31158 along with 2 pieces of OTP which had come from the Bescot direction, crossed over and entered the loop prior to going back from whence they had come when another path was available.
