Between 1982 and 1984 I spent many happy hours with my friends chasing around the North of England after the remaining Class 40s. In between times, we did of course go bashing other quality classes, and the pairs of Class 20s that used to be employed on Summer Saturday workings from the Midlands to Skegness were always a riot! Seen here, on Platform 3 at Nottingham Midland station on Sunday 31st July 1983, is a vintage Swindon built Class 120 3-car DMU [Derby Etches Park based set EP510] - as we awaited our first Class 20 move of the day.
