A Neville Hill allocated Class 108/111 hybrid is seen stabled at Huddersfield as a Class 156 departs on 29 June 1990. Closest is DMBS 53969 carrying set number T215 from a previous allocation to Tyseley. Its partner is 54091 had been reinstated a few weeks before after having been withdrawn in September 1989. It would spend another decade in traffic, becoming part of 101658 the following year. Keith Miller.
Class 108 ' Derby Lightweight' set CH274 (DMBS) M53964 and (DTCL) M54247, formerly a Cumbrian Coast regular since the late-1960s and based from Kingmoor diesel TMD. Repainted into British Railways green livery in the mid-1980s, upon closure of Kingmoor depot in May 1988, most of the Class 108s were transferred to Heaton depot for continued use in Cumbria, but this set was one of a batch transferred to Chester depot for a short while, before being transferred to Heaton around the spring of 1989, again returning to Cumbrian Coast diagrams.
