A Blue Pullman publicity photo of a Kitchen Car Type 5, vehicle W60738. Negative 9134. The WR kitchen cars differed from the LMR version by having two unpowered bogies, the LMR cars had a motor bogie at the saloon end. Metropolitan Cammell.

Standing outside Trailer Parlour First M60743 are, left to right: EJ Morris, Secretary, Pullman Car Company; CB Minifie, passenger, WO Reynolds, Divisional Manager, London (Midland) Division, LMR; and Fred Still, chef. Mr Minifie had been presented with an engraved silver ashtray noting that he was the 100,000th passenger on the "Midland Pullman" between Manchester and London, while the chef has a birthday cake to celebrate the train's second anniversary on 4th July 1962. The man in the gangway was a Spaniard who told me he was very impressed with British Railways and especially the Blue Pullmans - "Nothing like these on the RENFE", he told me. Hugh Llewelyn.
