This is the interior of 51387, part of Class 117 no. B407, taken as the train was leaving Toller during the Dorset Dawdler railtour on 03/05/1975. It is believed that tour participants joined this service train during the break. Graeme Phillips Collection.

During the era of DEMU operation, WR dmus occasionally appeared on Reading-Tonbridge trips that were worked by Reading crews. It was quite common for one to appear on a Bank Holiday, as here at Edenbridge on 3rd May 1975 with L411 (presumably 51394 + 59504 + 51352). Note the use of the relevant SR two-character headcode. The DMMUs struggled to keep the DEMU schedule and when they replaced the Tadpole units the timings had to be extended. Tony Watson.

The Southern Electric Group 'Dorset Dawdler' railtour included an almost three hour break at Maiden Newton which allowed participants the opportunity to travel on the Bridport branch on the last day of operation - 3rd May 1975.
