Before Network South-East found the B&Q paint counter Kings Sutton was a lovely little country station painted in delicate whites and greys, NSE changed that with a liberal coating of insensitive bright red and blue. The fact that "customers" still had to cross the running line at the platform end didn't matter, they could admire the gaudy paintwork from track level* The passengers are crossing in front of their single car + 56287 trailer that had just called with the 12.20 Oxford - Banbury train, 25/09/1980. *Kings Sutton does now have a much needed footbridge. Geoff Dowling.

In days before any thought of electrification, a pressed Steel class 121 driving trailer (which appears to be 56287) is propelled by a Class 121 single power car ("bubble car") towards Hayes and Harlington station on February 28, 1981. The destination blind apears to read "Slough" so I think this is an empty train off the Windsor branch. I believe the works behind the train was the EMI record-producing plant. Jeremy Chapter.
