Class 128 DMPV M55994 with a Met-Camm behind at Aberystwyth. Date unknown, it has a Tyseley set number in the cab window - it moved there in July 1985 (its second time at the depot, it was also allocated there from new till 1973). It was painted into a Red Star livery that September. The set number has "18th July" written on it so this should be circa July 1985. Stuart Mackay Collection.

During the mid-1980s Northampton was quite a centre for Parcels and Mail Traffic, and at the peak nearly 10 Parcels or Mail trains of various types would leave the town in the afternoons, from a Class 86 with a string of vans to these humble Diesel Parcel Units.
