A Class 128 parcels car at Stratford-upon-Avon in 1965. The photographer notes "This area had just been transferred from the WR to the LMR & all the MUs had a green patch where the "W" had been replaced with a "M". Note the P2 set number in the cab window, meaning this is likely to be 55994. Malcolm Clements.

It is attached to the rear of two 3-car Class 116 sets and seen at Galton Bridge, Smethwick. Note the damaged gangway cover, not unusual on these vehicles. It carries set number P4 in the cab window. A GRC&W parcel car (55991 or 55992) in early blue livery with only a yellow gangway cover at Oxford circa 1967. It is paired with a Derby suburban DMBS still in green - likely to 50819 or 50862 which had their seats removed for parcel traffic - and there are two vans in tow. Doug Nicholls.

A fascinating picture of an unidentified Gloucester Class 128 (possibly W55991) carrying what appears to be non-standard blue livery with white cab roofs and seemingly without yellow warning panels, although the reality is the van has a yellow painted corridor connection. The DMPV is working with an unidentified green liveried Derby Class 116 DMBS (probably 50819 or 50862), the pair pulling a BR(SR) green liveried CCT at Twyford and thought to be heading east - c.1968. 53A Models of Hull Collection.
In this scene, taken by Peter Shoesmith, Gloucester RC&W Motor Parcels Van M55990 is standing in the bay Platform at Wolverhampton Station. A class 119 is arriving with a train for Shrewsbury and an 08 has a maroon BG in the parcels sidings. At this time Wolverhampton Station was dominated by the flour and provender mill, appropriately owned by J.N. Miller. The Mill closed in 1981 but flour Milling at the site ended in 1959. The mill suffered a fire in 2008 and was demolished. The transparency is on Dixon's finest Prinzcolor film and Peter unfortunately caught the sun full onto the DMU, I have managed to get some detail back in Photoshop but it still looks odd. Undated, the livery on the 119 suggests circa 1968 / 1969. Copyright Geoff Dowling & John Whitehouse; all rights reserved. Geoff Dowling and John Whitehouse Collection.
