Gloucester RC&W Class 128 Motor Parcels Van (MPV) M55990 at Manchester Piccadilly, circa late 1970s. The Albion engine 230hp Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. parcels units were supplied in 1960 to the WR and LMR, those supplied to the LMR having no gangway connection. A worn-looking Gloucester Class 128 MPV, M55990 was ticking over between duties, stood against the block in platform 6 at Manchester Piccadilly on March 18th 1979. On the right of this scene, in platform 5, is the front end of a refurbished Class 108, and also a Nestle Chocolate machine - these red/white vending machines were a familiar sight across the BR station network in the 1970's & 1980's. Piccadilly Parcels. Not the sharpest of images by a long way, but a reasonably interesting one. One of the four LMR Gloucester Class 128 Motor Parcels Vans, M55990, trundles out of Manchester Piccadilly on 21st April 1979. It was withdrawn from service almost exactly three years later. Syd Young.

Parcels car 55991 works one of its frequent journeys into Paddington passing Ealing Broadway on 20th August 1975. On the rear seems to be a 116, so the GUV will be one of the through wired ex-Railair vehicles. Ian Buck.
