DMUs in Norwich station. There is no date on the slide, Met-Camm Lightweight E79057 on the right was withdrawn in June 1969, so no later than that. The GRC&W sets came to Cambridge in May 1968, so no earlier than that. Stuart Mackay Collection.
No details came with this negative showing a Met-Camm "Lightweight" DMU. Aldeburgh is on the destination blind, a branch that lost its passenger service in 1966, the faded blue livery means it was taken after that. There is no driver and no tail lamp at this end, and no passengers visible. After withdrawal two sets were stabled to the east side of Leiston on the Aldeburgh branch for a rescue exercise, and these clues point to this being one of those sets. Stuart Mackay Collection.
