These scans are courtesy of John Paton. The first was for Sunday 19th July when a triple and two twin Hamilton sets, with reporting number 331, would do the anti-clockwise Six Lochs circuit. Pick ups were at Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Blantyre, Hamilton (West and Central) and Coatbridge. The usual stops at Callander and Killin were done but the layover at Crainlarich has been eliminated, and it seems that passengers were now able to stay onboard the train between the two stations. The teatime stop was instead at Helensburgh Central.
The second sheet shows one for the following day, Monday 20th July (most of these sheets are noted as Lanarkshire Fair Holidays). Pickups were at Coalburn, Lesmahagow, Blackwood, Stonehouse, Larkhall Central, Hamilton Central and Motherwell. Carrying reporting number 335 the booked formation of two triples and a twin would do the anti-clockwise circuit with the standard layovers at Callander, Killin and Crainlarich.
The third sheet covers the Land Cruise from Fauldhouse North on Wednesday July 22 picking up at Shotts, Cleland, Holytown and Coatbridge Central. It was booked for a triple and two twin Hamilton sets carring reporting number 331. There was the usual Callander stop, the Killin layover was extended to almost three hours and there was no third stop.
The fourth is not for a Six Lochs tour but one of the "Other Land Cruises by Diesel Train" advertised on page 5 of the Advance Information booklet. It ran from Wishaw to Oban, also on Wednesday July 22nd, using a triple and twin set over the West Highland route to Crainlarich rather than the Callander route of the normal passenger trains. As well as almost two hours at Oban there was a two hour stop at Helensburgh Central on the outward journey for an early lunch.
The final sheet is for Sunday 2nd August (noted as Paisley and District Trades Holidays) which was booked for a Hamilton triple and two twins. The Gourock Station Master was to arrange for the vehicles to be labelled A to G between the arrival of the ECS at 8.05am and departure at 10.45am. Other pickups were at Greenock (West and Central), Port Glasgow, Paisley Gilmour Street and Hillington (Wast and West). Layovers were at Helensburgh Central (2 hours) and Callander (2 hours). The full timings are not given but the journey time of 2 1/2 hours from Helensburgh to Callender suggests it did not include Killin.
Sid Rickard photographed the Easter Monday (30 March) tours. It is not clear what photos show which tour and they are not necessarily in order. His images can sometimes be found for sale online.
