The now-demolished chimneys at Stewartby dominate the landscape as Class 121 units 55031+55029 pass working the 10.50 from Bletchley on 24 August 1999. Both of these vehicles carried names at this time - 55029 was "Marston Vale" and 55031 was "Leslie Crabbe". Both vehicles later saw departmental use; 55029 became 977968 and 55031 became 977976. Tyseley allocated 55033 in Derby station on Friday 27 June 1986 - possibly standing on for a parcel car? Note the small white writing under the left cab window which seems to read something like "Pressed Steel 1234 Gla". David Russon.
