121 DMU

55026

Set Number: B126

29th March 1986
Waiting in the glum surroundings at the remains of Severn Beach station on 29 March 1986 is Bristol based Pressed Steel class 121 55026. The awful remains of the station are not helped by the addition of "Severn Beach Live Her" in red paint on the waiting shelter/urinal unit. Severn Beach never really developed as the holiday resort the GWR hoped it would, too many better and more scenic places are close by although Severn Beach does have a quiet charm of its own. Geoff Dowling.

121 DMU

55033

Set Number: 083

16th May 1987
The unique Midline class 121 single car 55033 was on the back of 3 car class 108 T902 (presumably 51566 + 59387 + 53933) leaving Stratford-upon-Avon on 16 May 1987. Class 108s were not commonplace here, especially those with a cab-mounted headlight and even less so working with a bubble unit in the consist. Image 20905 on here shows the train in platform 3 a few minutes earlier while waiting to form a train for Birmingham Moor Street. Peter Tandy.

121 DMU

121 DMU

55027

Set Number: L127

circa June 1975
Class 121 W55027 in Twyford station with a Henley-on-Thames service, the slide process date was June 1975. Stuart Mackay Collection.

121 DMU

54289

Set Number: 289

17th February 1988
The 1252 service from Slough - Windsor & Eton Central has just commenced its journey and curves away from the GWML as it takes the branch. Formed of an OC allocated Class 121 pairing, with power car 55031 leading trailer vehicle 54289, both vehicles have been repainted into the original version of NSE livery with the trailer unusually carrying a warning panel set number and the BR 'arrows of indecision. 17th February 1988. Nigel Mack.
