The most comprehensive and controversial book on DMUs. There's no doubting that it contains an outstanding collection of images, but the text has one or two mistakes more than it should for what became a definitive book on the topic. Released in 1998.

Not so much a pictorial, but an outstanding collection of drawings (sides, ends & interiors) for every 1st generation DMU/DEMU in OO scale. A must for the DMU modeller. But take care and double check any details, there are many mistakes in the book. Released in October 1995.

A collection of colour photographs, many from Colour Rail, but a beautiful book. It is rare to see such a collection of colour pictures of DMUs! Did I mention it is all in colour? Released in October 1994.

Modern Railways Pictorial Profile was an occasional Ian Allan magazine devoted to certain subjects, and issue 10 was about the Blue Pullmans.

This 1984 book goes into technical details, and covers steam railcars, early DMUs (LMS and GWR), BR first generation DMUs and railbuses, DEMUs, Blue Pullmans, HSTs, and the APT. A good read.
