When Railway World magazine published details about the release of the Worcester Locomotive Society Railcar Checklist in 1972 it included a claim that this was the first time a printed checklist had been produced with depot allocations for all DMU vehicles.[1] This started a chain of letters from readers with details of earlier publications: a list published by the Jubilee Railway Society in September 1970[2]; a Spring 1961 allocation/checklist published by the Monmouthshire Railway Society[3]; but the winner was the Northern Railfans Club who published a DMU checklist in February 1961[4].
