On Easter Monday 1979 (April 16th), the Branch Line Society ran its "Waterloo and Buchan" railtour from Aberdeen to Waterloo, Maud, Fraserburgh, Strichen and Ellon. Class 122 single railcar SC55007, marked as set 178, was used. It is seen at Aberdeen Waterloo. Jeremy Chapter.
The Branch Line Society (BLS) "Waterloo and Buchan" railtour worked by 55007 on 16 April 1979 had a photo stop at Strichen station. The line from Dyce Junction, near Aberdeen to Fraserburgh had closed to passengers in the 1960s but had a freight service until 1979, after which it was closed and lifted. Jeremy Chapter.

An uncharacteristically dull 27th June sees GRCW class 122 railcar Sc55007 saunter into Dundee Tay Bridge ready to form 2A24 10.22 local service to Arbroath on 27th June 1980. Bruce Galloway.
Sc55007 at Dundee with the 1.25pm to Arbroath, 23/5/81. It carries a 'Tayway' brand sticker on the front of the cab. Hamish Stevenson.
Gloucester RCW class 122 single car Sc55007, forming a 3 car rake with two class 101 cars, arrives at the spartan, and frosty, Balmossie Halt with 2A30 12:29 Dundee to Arbroath. Note the "Tayway" branding on the unit, which I believe was a local initiative to promote travel on the Perth-Dundee-Arbroath corridor in the early 80's. Balmossie Halt was part of the Dundee and Arbroath Joint line, eventually falling under the control of the Caledonian Railway with running rights granted to the rival North British Railway. An LMS era maroon enamel sign can be seen beside the rudimentary waiting room. 12th December 1981. Bruce Galloway.
