Former Cardiff Canton operated Class 120 DMBC No.51782 has just terminated at the Scottish Coastal town of Largs on the 1st August 1986 from where she will return to Glasgow Central as the rear vehicle. Still marked up as C616 from her time at Cardiff she also still wears a yellow “First Class” yellow stripe above the first 3 windows of the coach and a central headlamp between her cab windows. Glasgow Central circa 10-1986. 318252 is brand new in service on the Ayrline, taking over from the old guard DMU. C616 was one of the Class 120 sets transferred from Cardiff Canton to Ayr to cover ScR DMU shortages in the mid 1980s. Andrew McConnell.
W51790 in Haymarket depot on the 8th February 1987. Originally an ScR vehicle, it had spent six years at Cardiff from 1980. It moved back north to Ayr depot in June 1986, then to HA that September, keeping its W prefix until withdrawn in March 1987. Hamish Stevenson.
