Haltwhistle at 11.45 on 31.8.71. A train from Carlisle to Newcastle, led by 50610, runs into the platform on the right. In the branch platform on the left, a two-car 101 (50225/56050) waits to leave for Alston at 12.00. Leonard Rogers.
An impressive 10-car DMU rake led by MetroTrain branded 53610 and 54199, followed by a plain blue class 105 pair and three more two-car class 108 sets heads for York at Kirkham Abbey on 27/Jul/1986. Robert Chilton.
A Derby twin set (later Class 108) in Corstorphine station in 1966. Scotland had just two driver trailer sets at this time, 50610 + 56201 and 50611 + 56202. Walter Burt.
A Derby Lightweight (Blue Square) DMU at St Ives (Huntingdonshire) after arriving from Cambridge into the platform which used to be for the line to Huntingdon and Kettering circa 1968. Behind the building are the platforms formerly used for the March line. The station was largely intact at this time, but was rationalised a few months later. Cambridge depot only ever had one DMU allocated of this type, 56201 + 50610 arriving from the Scottish Region in January 1968 which explains the yellow first class stripe on the DTCL.
