Class 108 d.m.u. CH280 (53986 + 54221) 09-07-1989 awaiting its next duty at Bridlington. The set had been transferred from Chester to Neville Hill a few weeks earlier. Gordon Thomson.
Now a Neville Hill vehicle 53986 still carries set number CH280 from its previous allocation. It is paired with Met-Camm 53162 (together they formed set NL470) when seen at Morecambe on the 16th September 1989. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A Class 108/101 DMU on a Sheffield service stands at Nottingham station in 1990. Closest is 53986, allocated to Neville Hill, the 280 set number (on the cab and under the vehicle number) is from its previous allocation which was to Chester. Its partner is presumably 54085. Andrew Walker.
