A Cravens Class 105 DMU (set 50, presumably 51279 closest) near Wicken on 3 April 1976. The number of photographers seen lineside suggests a railtour is due. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Thursday 10/07/1980 at Hexham, and freshly repainted Class 105 DMBS no. E51279 and Class 101 DTS(L) no. E56388 call with a Newcastle - Haltwhistle service. Graeme Phillips Collection.

The M&GNJRS East Anglian Branch Farewell railtour passes Somersham on 4th March 1967 which was the last day of passenger services on the line. The Cravens DMU has E56440 leading, the Six Bells Junction website notes the DMBS as E51279. John Clark / Adrian Sutterby Collection.
Cars E56136 E51279 are seen working a Newcastle-South Shields service on 4/4/1980... not giving much away about the location, this shot was taken from Park Lane, Gateshead. Graeme Phillips Collection.
The view from the Hexham station footbridge looking west on 4 August 1981. The dmu is a Cravens 2-car set of Class 105, made up of cars 56464/51279. From memory I think it has arrived on a service from Newcastle and is about set back over the crossover into the eastbound platform to form the 13.10 back to Newcastle Central. Note the wagons being filled with sand on the right of my pic, and Hexham signal box on the gantry in the background. The box is Grade II-listed and of NER origin. Lewis Bevan.

This pair of recently repainted dmus make a pleasant scene standing at the south end of York station on my visit of July 2nd 1982. Norwich based twin sets could turn up just about anywhere it seemed and here Cravens Class 105 set 54 formed of E56440 + E51279 is on the left having arrived as the 10.37 from Sheffield. Derby built set E50618 + E56190 has come in from Doncaster. Gerard Fletcher.
Bufferstop scene at a tidy looking Lowestoft station on 18th August 1983. 31229 has arrived with the daily freight from Norwich, while the Cravens dmu, E51279 + E56440 (set 54) is awaiting departure as the 13.06 to Norwich. Gerard Fletcher.
