A Derby Works image (negative 58/950) showing a Derby Heavyweight DMU formed of E50003 + E56003 in late 1958, possibly on the Wirksworth branch. The DMBS has Albion engines fitted, but not recently judging by the weathering. British Railways.
A Derby Works image (negative 58/951) showing the radiator on the No.1 side of a Derby Heavyweight DMBS, presumed to be E50003, in late 1958. This was type fitted with the Albion engines, originally they had a smaller version when fitted with 150hp engines. British Railways.
The very rare sight of a DMU (classes 114 & 105) on a Liverpool Street - Cambridge service: E50003, E56014, E56114 and E51294 head the 12.05 Liverpool Street - Cambridge at Hackney Downs presumably due to shortage of loco or stock. The same unit worked Up on the 09.27 Cambridge - Liverpool Street and it wasn't doing too badly at only 8 minutes late! 16/Oct/1980. Robert Chilton.
A Class 114 set (formed E53003 + E54040) and another DMU with the 12:58 Yarmouth - Norwich arrive at Norwich on Saturday 21st September 1985. Colin Brooks.
