Derby Heavyweight E50005 heads the 11.52am Peterborough - Grimsby Town service on September 28th, 1965 at Littleworth. Note the odd placement of the blue square on the left. Michael Mensing.
Class 114 DMBS E50005 ex-works at Doncaster - date unknown. Paul Redmond.
A close up of the number of E53005 and the Lincoln depot allocation sticker. Peter (LEYTR).
Class 114 DMU set T222 (presumably 53005 + 54039) approaches Attenborough in February 1989. The platforms were shortened in 1988 and the edges removed from the redundant sections prior to their removal. Andrew Walker.
Tyseley based Derby class 114 DMU set T025 (vehicles 53005 + 54039) seen climbing towards Hatton in the summer of 1990. Bob Belcher.
Set T025, formed of DMBS 53005 and DTCL 54039 at Wilmcote. No exact date, but probably 1990-91 James Bradley.
Class 114 DMBS 53005 at Snailwell on 3 February 1992. Nicholas Youngman.
Keith has noted Class 105 Departmental DMU TDB977453, DMUs 53026, 54026, 54039 and 53005 in this view of Lincoln depot on 12 July 1987. In the platform on the left are the two departmental 100s: 975539 + 975349 and 975637 + 975664; it looks like the Cravens is next in that line, presumably its partner is 977454. Keith Miller.
Class 114 DMU set T222 (presumably 54039 + 53005) gets away from its Attenborough stop en route to Derby in February 1989. The four-aspect signal, waiting room and footbridge have all been replaced since this time, arguably with less aesthetic structures in all three cases. Andrew Walker.
T222 (54039 + 53005) is seen in Sleaford yard on the 19th August 1989. Gazza Prescott.
On your marks... Two different DMU sets with 3 classes of vehicle at Stratford-upon-Avon on 26 September 1990. Class 101/116 hybrid set T038 (51808 + 53838) is in platform 1 forming the 15.26 departure to Birmingham Moor Street while class 114 T025 (53005 + 54039) was on a Leamington Spa service, from memory the 16.12 from Stratford. This picture was taken after the signalling arrangements had been changed to allow arrivals and departures from any of the 3 platforms. This removed the need for shunting every arrival from platform 1 to either 2 or 3 with a new upper quadrant starting signal being provided for trains leaving platform 2, the taller signal on the right being redesignated as the starter for platform 1. Peter Tandy.
T025 E54039 + 53005 stands at the temporary platform at Coalville working the morning shuttle services, 26/5/91. Kevin Dowd.
