Norwich allocated Class 100 DTC E56098 was withdrawn and noted soon after at Doncaster Works with severe cab damage. The details of the incident are unknown.

A GRC&W twin led by SC56098 departs from Edinburgh Waverley with an Inner Circle service on 22 May 1962. Michael Mensing.
56098 is the rear vehicle on this GRCW twin set leaving Gorgie East with the last Edinburgh Outer Circle train, 8th September 1962. Hamish Stevenson.
In the sidings at Doncaster on 7 April 1973 can be seen a Class 100 DTC with the cab removed, probably 56098 which was withdrawn the previous month and had been noted in Doncaster with severe cab damage. Beside it is another Gloucester-built vehicle, LMR Class 128 DMPV M55987, withdrawn in July 1971. Mr Deltic.
