The 6.25pm Birmingham New Street - Leamington Spa (Avenue) service on 19 June 1959 seen between Marston Green and Hampton-in-Arden. It is formed of two Ryecroft allocated GRC&W sets, M56105 on the left and the DMBS in the middle seems to be M50356. Michael Mensing.

Class 100 DMU at Penns

circa 1963

Leaving Penns station on the Walsall - Water Orton 'Sutton Park line' is a DMU with Gloucester RC&W DTCL M56105 leading, paired with a Park Royal DMBS. The train is Birmingham bound and will run via Castle Bromwich. The line closed to passengers 18/01/1965 but remains open for freight. Class 100 DMU at Penns

This was Penns Station on the Sutton Park line that runs between Walsall and Water Orton. The line closed to passengers on 18th January 1965, but is still open as a major freight artery. Unfortunately undated, probably 1963, this picture shows a Birmingham bound DMU with Gloucester RC&W M56105 leading, paired with a Park Royal DMBS. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith. A Class 100 DMU in Chester station, May 1981. This cab front (presumably 56105) appears to feature an unusual headlight arrangement, with the headcodes having been plated over and replaced by two central cut-outs - usually, replacement headlights were positioned above the buffers.
