A scan of a water damaged print showing a Cravens twin set with DTC Sc56465 closest at Craigellachie, date unknown. The GNoSR footbridge has boards listing the destinations from the platform, the left side reads "Platform 2 for Elgin, Lossiemouth Inverness and the North". The DMU is in platform 1 and is likely on a service bound for Aberdeen. A third platform off to the left was for the Speyside branch, for several years operated by diesel railbuses to Aviemore. Longsight Lash-up on the Shuttle. Not THE celebrity pairing which lasted a few more years, but this is another Gloucester / Cravens hybrid set on the Stalybridge to Stockport shuttle entering Guide Bridge in June 1982. Here we see M51115 paired with M56465, both of which started their lives in Scotland at Leith Central and Kittybrewster respectively. They were both withdrawn by the end of the year. Murray Liston.
