On 02/06/1983, Class 101 cars E56054 E51219 E51247 E54406 stand in sidings within Darlington station. The vehicle nearest the camera still carries its original 56xxx number, but would be renumbered to 54xxx during 1983 as has already happened with the far vehicle and with most others in the series that year. It is also highly unlikely that the front saloon was still being used as first class accommodation by this date.
