A tidy looking three-car Class 101 DMU leaning into the curve as it departed from Dawlish with the 18.20 Exeter St Davids to Newton Abbot (all stations) service on a glorious Saturday evening, May 26th 1990. W51500 leads, the TBS should be W59093 and an unknown DMBS on the rear. This set was one of many Class 101 & 108 units sent to the West Country as a stop-gap following the transfer of the Devon & Cornwall Class 142 'Skipper' fleet to the North in 1988, and before the transfer of almost new Class 150/2 Sprinter units in 1992.
