In the days when it was possible to sit at the front of a diesel multiple unit and (assuming that the driver had not lowered the blind) it was possible to enjoy a "driver's eye" view of the track ahead. On board a class 116 unit as a similar unit passes in the opposite direction on the section of route between Solihull and Lapworth that used to be four tracks. Taken in September 1984 from 51130 on a Leamington Spa service.
