Class 101 DMU at West Granton

On 23rd August 1980 the BLS “Lothian & Fife Wanderer” covered a number of freight lines around Edinburgh and Fife, formed of 3 car Met Camm set 51224 + 59067 + 50243. I did not travel on this but chose to take some photos on the Granton branch, sadly only with a Kodak Instamatic.

The tour stopped short of the West Granton Road bridge, at the point where locos ran round their tank trains. The gas works off to the right used to have a fascinating selection of standard and narrow gauge steam locos working an extensive internal system.
