On the evening of Spring Bank Holiday Monday, May 28th 1979 and with the sun setting in the West, a Newton Heath allocated Class 105 Power-Twin DMU formed of cars M50789 & M50771 was stood at the seaside resort of Rhyl coupled with various other DMU sets on a return excursion from Llandudno to East Lancashire.
