A Derby Class 108 two-car DMU formed of cars M54258 & M53975 (N605) was passing the Cocker Bar at Ulnes Walton whilst running through the West Lancashire countryside between Midge Hall and Croston with a Preston to Ormskirk service on April 25th 1989. The set lasted in service until May 1990 and was subsequently scrapped by Booth's of Rotherham.
