On 14 September 1953 the prototype ACV 'Flying Brick' railbus set sits on the Up goods loop opposite Cambridge station. Car No. 1 is nearest the camera. The set has returned south from a stint at Birmingham. Note there is a coal train waiting behind it; whether signalling allowed for this I don't know but the whole scene shouts "deliberately posed". Note also the oil lamp mounted sideways on.
