Millbrook station on 19 January 1994. The train pictured is the 14.40 Bedford-Blatchley, comprised of Class 121 single unit 55023 coupled to a 2-car Class 117 set L709, 51344 + 51386. 55023 was built for use on secondary WR branch lines and was new in November 1960 It's first allocation was to Southall (81C). 55023 ended its BR days working from Bletchley depot (BY) mainly on the Bletchley-Bedford line. It was repainted into green livery in March 1993, but was declared surplus and withdrawn from service in November 1996, passing into preservation.
