The original Bloxwich Station was closed on the 18th January 1965 under the Beeching plan. Demolition soon followed, the elegant cast iron columns and canopy being lost forever. The new station is not on this site and is one of the modern functional design. In Peter's picture on a grey and sunless 27th March 1964 an unidentified G2A is approaching the camera whilst a Metro-Cammell 2 car DMU is on a service to Rugeley. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith.
