Class 103 DMU at Birmingham New Street

16th June 1962

In Birmingham New Street on June 16 1962 is a Park Royal and GRC&W set which have arrived on the 3:50pm ex-Rugeley (TV) and will now work the 5.10pm return. Note the 21F shed code on the buffer beam, this was Rycroft depot which had sixteen of the twenty Park Royal sets allocated to it on this date, the other four (50411-4) were at Watford. The DMBS has no whiskers, but the cover for the route indicator is from a vehicle that had whiskers. Michael Mensing.

M59127 is the centre car in the 9.05am Rugeley Town - Birmingham New Street service arriving at Walsall on 17 June 1962. The vehicle code painted on the end is 'CO' for Composite Open. Michael Mensing.

The 9.50am Birmingham New Street to Rugeley Town station service on Sunday 17 June 1962 is seen near Birchills box on its way out of Walsall formed of a three-car Met-Camm DMU. Michael Mensing.

Class 101 DMU at Brindley Heath

mid-1962

A three-car Met-Camm DMU is seen at Brindley Heath on the Walsall-Rugeley line in mid-1962. The closest vehicle has a much lighter grey roof than the other two. Michael Mensing.
