The 30th May 1988, Bank Holiday Monday, just after 9am and an ecs working for 31232 from Sheffield Station to Leeds, Neville Hill with 8 DMU coaches, of which the leading 4 in the photo were 54365, 51183, 78969 and 78719, according to my notes. The driver described them as 'knackered' before he left, though I rather liked the 2 tone livery which, to me, did not make them look 30 years old!!
