On the slightly delapidated platform at Alvechurch Station a few passengers wait for the 12.50 Four Oaks to Redditch train. That train is lead by 53890, one of Tyseley's faithful class 116 dmus. Just under the leading car is a foot crossing, this was to a field path, today that is reached by using the new overbridge to the second platform which has recently been built at this now twin track, electrified station.
