One of the rapidly dwindling Cravens built 2 car Class 105 units departs from Yarmouth Vauxhall with the Summer Saturday's only 1617 service for Norwich on 16 August 1986. Running as set NC 34 it is formed of DMBS E53366 and DTS E54421. Notice the brackets and fitting on the lower cab front where additional high power headlamps were fitted for a time, when allocated to SF, for working Romford to Upminster services. As E50366 it was allocated new to Hull Springhead depot (53C) on 12 January 1957 with its original partner E56121. It remained with the Eastern Region all its working life, except for a spell 'On Loan' to BY "to ease the electrical load during the power crisis" during February 1972. Allocated to Hull Springhead, BG, CA, NR, and SF, its final move was from SF back to NR (by now NC) on 24 March 1985. Lasting for just over a further eighteen months it was withdrawn on 12 October 1986 and scrapped by Mayer Newman at Snailwell.
