In the early 1990s much of the former Sorting Sidings at Margam Yard was turned over for the storage and scrapping of withdrawn rolling stock, and a scrap company Gwent Demolition set up business there. Here many hundreds of vehicles met their fate including this Laira allocated Class 108 DMBS vehicle 51936, formerly of set 828, which stands at the head of class mates 59382 + 59380 on 14th June 1992
