During the morning of 10th March 1979 a Cravens class 105 unit No.E56139-E50371 eases into March station forming a Peterborough to Cambridge service. How the railway has changed when you look at the platform; Nestle chocolate vending machines, a porter's trolley, even a porter coming out of his office, not to mention flares and long hair. I wonder if that DMU was a 'cop' for the young enthusiast? The favourite vantage point, the road overbridge for looking into Whitemoor Yard, can be seen between the station chimneys. There is also some spoil offloading activity from rail wagons going on adjacent to the GN&GE Joint line platform. Happy days!
