On the 5th June 1988 Newton Heath allocated Class 108 DMBS M53944 is seen during an overhaul at BREL Doncaster Works Carriage & Wagon Section. Later converted to departmental Sandite vehicle ADB977766 she was eventually scrapped during April 1994 by C F Booth, Rotherham. Bob Woolnough.

Inside the Doncaster Works Carriage & Wagon Department on the 5th June 1988 Bristol Bath Road based Class 108 DMBS No.53618 from Set B966 is supported on jacks undergoing an overhaul. Withdrawn diring February 1992 she was subsequently scrapped at Gwent Demolition, Margam, South Wales. Bob Woolnough.

Class 115 DMBS vehicle No.51894 in BR blue / grey livery is seen mid way through a major overhaul inside BREL Doncaster Works on the 5th June 1988 with the body supported on accommadation blocks. Normally to be found on Chiltern line services operating out of London Marylebone Station she remained in original condition, never receiving a gangway connection for the whole of her 31 year operational career. Delivered in December 1958, Class 108 DMBS M53626 is stabled outside the Test House at BREL Doncaster Works on the 5th June 1988 after what was probably it’s last General Overhaul. At the time allocated to Buxton MPD as can be seen by the unit code in the window M53626 would be withdrawn from passenger service in October 1991 and renumbered as ADB977745 in service as a Route Learning / Sandite vehicle until finally withdrawn a year later in October 1992 and scrapped by CF Booth, Rotherham during January 1993.
