A 3-car Buxton allocated Derby built Class 108 DMU comprising of M52064, M59388 and M51941 pulls into Chapel-en-le-Frith with a Manchester Piccadilly - Buxton working on the 14th May 1988. Andrew J Crowther.
On the 20th July 1986 one of Buxton's allocated 3-car class 108 dmu's with a 104 center car is seen operating Peak Rail Rambler's Sunday only Buxton-New Mills Central-Buxton service, which did about 3 return trips. The train has just passed through the 104 yard long tunnel underneath the L&NWR's Stockport-Buxton line just south of Chapel-en-le-Frith's station, and is travelling towards Buxton on the ex Midland Railway route to Derby, which is now freight only and serves to the quarries in the Buxton area. With Oxford Road showing on the blind, Buxton based BRC&W class 104 dmu BX487 (M53514, M59228, M53556) slows for the Chapel-en-le-Frith stop, with a Sunday working to Manchester Oxford Road on 23rd February 1986. This set was unique at Buxton for in it's formation was M59228 a TBSL one of only 14 built for the North Eastern Region 4 car sets it was the last of it's kind in service. Andrew J Crowther.

With Disley showing on the blind, Buxton based Derby class 108 dmu BX496 with it's BRC&W center car (M51947 + M59155 + M52062) slows for the Chapel-en-le-Frith stop on 23rd February 1986. The line between Disley and Hazel Grove was closed every Sunday around this time for the construction of the Hazel Grove Cord. Andrew J Crowther.
