29/03/91 - 51941 + 52064 arrived at the Severn Valley Railway. They were a replacement for 53454 + 53528 which were originally destined for the line but were found to contain asbestos between the underframe and floor. The 108 set, T068, was made available instead after a proposed sale to Balfour Beatty for a Channel Tunnel inspection unit was cancelled.

M52064 at Dunford East with the diverted 1M42 1652 Nottingham to Manchester Piccadilly 26th May 1971. Keith Long.
Derby built Class 108 Driving Trailer Second Lavatory (DTSL) M52064 was arriving at Rufford whilst leading a Preston to Ormskirk service on July 25th 1985. The car was one of the final batch of Class 108's built at Derby in 1961 and was the penultimate vehicle constructed of a total of 333 cars built to various configurations. M52064 has survived into preservation at the Severn Valley Railway. Martyn Hilbert.
A 3-car Buxton allocated Derby built Class 108 DMU comprising of M52064, M59388 and M51941 pulls into Chapel-en-le-Frith with a Manchester Piccadilly - Buxton working on the 14th May 1988. Andrew J Crowther.
CH376 (M52064 + M59183 + M51941) approach New Mills Newtown on the 08:22 Buxton to Piccadilly, 13-5-89. The two power cars were preserved on the Severn Valley Railway, and the center car is one of the few Class 104 cars to be painted blue/grey. Kevin Dowd.

Although the passenger services had ceased over a year earlier the Woodhead line still saw frequent passenger trains with diversions and football specials. On a lovely late spring day a diverted 1M42 the 1652 Nottingham to Manchester Piccadilly is diverted from the Hope Valley route (leading vehicle is M52064) at Dunford East on 26 May 1971. Keith Long.
